Carter Wilkey, a realtor with iPro Realty Network in Cedar City, put on his dancing shoes and danced a Charleston for the Iron County Children’s Justice Center benefit/fundraiser, “Dancing with the Community Stars”. The Iron County Board of Realtors provided Carter with a Sponsorship in the amount of $1,000. They also gave him an additional $500 to purchase votes the night of the event.
The event raised $50,000—through ticket sales, sponsorships and purchased votes. “Dancing with the Community Stars” partners community members with the SUU Ballroom Dance team to provide a fun evening of entertainment (and competition).
The Iron County Children’s Justice Center provides a space for children who have experienced alleged abuse a safe place to disclose in a child-friendly atmosphere, thus making the children feel safe and comfortable. They conduct over 170 interviews each year.
